{POLL} Baby names from the Bible
People have been asking me what names I have chosen for the baby. I browsed an A to Z list, starting with the boys, and settled on the first name that sounded nice to me: Aidan. (Obviously, I didn’t get very far down the list =) Then my aunt told me that Aidan was the most popular baby name in 2007, followed by Braden and Kaden. Well, that turned me off to Aidan!
I want a fairly unique name that’s still easy to pronounce, and one with meaning, especially from the Bible. Scratch off Shadrach, Meshach, or Abednego… but their buddy Daniel is on the list!
For a girl, the name Layla Grace rolled right off my tongue. I want a girl to have my initials to pass down any heirloom items I have monogrammed (don’t laugh!!!). Then my niece reminded me that we already have a Keilah Grace among the kids. Layla Grace… Keilah Grace… well, that would just confuse the heck out of the grandparents!
So, we’re back to square one and starting with Biblical names. Hannah’s story in the Book of First Samuel is meaningful to me, but I chose other names that sounded nice, too.
Don’s only stipulation is to not name our kid after our parents or grandparents (sorry, Wilfred!). And James says he’d want a more unique name, too, if he had a choice. Other than that, the decision is all mine. So, take the following polls and tell me what you think!
You may choose more than one name from each list,
however, you may only vote once.

I don’t care for any of the girl names. I liked several of the boy’s names, though.
how come “Adley” is not showing up in the results, that’s what i voted. For the girl, i like Nina & Julia. Lia too, but that’s Junie’s girl’s name. And absolute No to Abigail! LOL!
The name is Abendan! From Aaron, Benjamin and Daniel. That way he will still be unique
@Troy: do you care for ANY girl names at all?
@Lyn: your adley vote is in. i know, junie beat me to my top 2 names: luke and lia. why couldn’t she have picked names that begin w/ “j” instead?!?! i figured you’d steer me away from layla but i totally forgot about your thing w/ abigail =) that’s the problem: we know an abigail or layla or some other name of someone we have a history with, my SIL already has a rachel, i already know a hannah and adina, and junie already has luke and lia. *sigh* i knew i should’ve had kids earlier! LOL =)
@dad: abendan who??? i was talking about Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and daniel and their story in the lion’s den. who’s abendan?? anyway, i don’t like the sound of it.
I do have a lot of girls names I like, just none that you have on your list. Sorry…
Boy: Wallace (after his great, great paternal Grandfather’s real first name), or Wallace Clifford … nickname = “Dusty”
Girl: Tabitha (meaning Gazelle)
no offense to grandpa “dusty” but ugh! on wallace and ugh! on clifford. i’m w/ don on no parents/grandparents names.
I like Wallace……Hey Wally wheres the beaver?
