100x sweeter

Layla & Daddy lounging on the couch.
We were on the couch this afternoon (Layla and mommy). I was rocking her to sleep. She leaned her head up to kiss me. I kissed her nose. Then she smiled and signed “I love you” with her right hand. And my heart melted…………
That moment was 100x sweeter than any time those words ever came out of a man’s lips! I wish I could bottle it up and drink it all the time.
No commentsNew Camper
It’s official: We have more trailers than homes, cars, or kids! Fortunately, our development has a community parking lot where no one really knows who owns what. As of today, we have 2 camping trailers, 2 flat bed trailers, and 1 storage trailer in the lot.
Don scored a newer, bigger, nicer camping trailer (above) than the one we purchased only 2 years ago. Therefore, that trailer is now for sale. I’m afraid to get attached to the newer one in case husband is going to make a habit of buying new trailers every other year =) I am loving the microwave! I can smell the popcorn already! The bathroom is also a nicer setup than the older one; more storage and the toilet is not in the way of the shower. The couch is cool, too. We don’t have to squeeze our big bellies around the table anymore to sit on the benches. No bunkbeds like the older one (we’re too old and too young for bunkbeds now that James is on his own). Instead, it has 2 full (or double?) beds, one on each side. I wouldn’t mind sleeping on a bunkbed again if it were, say, on a cruise ship to the Mediterranean =) Now THAT is something I can get attached to!
I’ll take and post my own pics when we’re done setting it up or when we’re already camping at the shore in a couple of weeks. We’re still in the process of “moving” from one trailer to the other. Yee-haw!
2 commentsFork it!
This week:
- She’s learning to use utensils. We started with the fork coz it’s harder to stab food with a spoon.
- She knows when she’s in trouble. I caught her opening the TV cabinet. As soon as she heard my voice, she panicked and slammed it shut.
- She “speaks” more with her hands. She signs to me and Don when she’s hungry or thirsty. Yesterday, she signed to my sister that she wanted milk.
She hasn’t picked up the sign for sleepy because I haven’t been using it much. All she has to do is rub her ears and I know.
No commentsSnow White
My little halfsie Snow White got sunburned in the car on our short trip to the mall this afternoon. Can you believe it? This is where the darker (Filipino) gene is less dominant.
And just a couple of favorites I found when I organized my picture folder this evening. My daughter is just so beautiful! So much more than I could have ever imagined!

I took Layla to a different Sears Portrait Studio and found out I was wrong. I can’t just walk away with a free 8×10 without buying something. Duh! How else would they make a profit? The other Sears employee must have been sleeping on that day of training because she twice let me walk away with a free 8×10 without additional purchase. I could just keep going to the “free” Sears, but that would be dishonest knowing what I know now.
So, I bit and purchased an 8×10 and got a couple more poses for free. But I think I’ve got my money’s worth at Sears already. Uncle (my brother) will be taking her portraits from now on. He does a better job anyway, like this and this.
