His needs, Her needs
All I wanted was a cell phone that synched w/ my Outlook calendar. A higher megapixel camera than my current camera phone would be nice, too. That’s all.
Somehow, Don convinced me that I absolutely N-E-E-D WiFi and Bluetooth and all this other stuff! They’re all nice to have, but NEED??? Anyway, this is what we compromised on:
Granted, he got it for less than retail on eBay. But still… I could’ve bought a Cricut scrapbook electronic diecut machine instead for the cost of a phone.
I guess that says a lot about our differing priorities :-)

When there’s nothing to blog, I post a pic! Why not? :-)
Tonight’s dinner was pork scallopini — thin pork fillets seasoned, lightly dredged in flour, and pan fried till golden. In the same pan, I sauteed garlic and scallions till fragrant. Added white wine, chicken stock, and reduced to sauce consistency. Serverd it atop a mound of garlic spaghetti tossed with sauteed spinach in garlic and peperoncini and drizzled the wine reduction all over the savory oink ;-)
1 commentWeekend Update
New camping trailer is here! Don drove 27 hours round trip to pick it up from Virginia. It’s currently parked on our driveway, which must look weird to the neighbors since it’s the middle of winter, but the communal parking lot is covered with a thick sheet of ice.
Threw a small family gathering to celebrate James’ birthday. What was supposed to be a casual dinner turned into another sleepover weekend. My siblings think my house is a weekend bed and breakfast getaway, except it’s no vacation for me because I don’t get to go anywhere.
This was the fourth sleepover in a row! I’ve hosted a weekend sleepover each month since Thanksgiving! That’s enough for a while. I want Don to (hopefully) finish his home projects without interruption. Otherwise, we’re just stock-piling construction supplies.
I was sooo excited to decorate cupcakes! But I lost the momentum when the kids arrived. All I wanted to do was take pictures of them. Thank God my oldest niece loves doing this stuff so I handed the cakes over to her while I fetched my camera.
And thank God for my mom for taking over the kitchen and bringing more food! She’s always prepared for this kind of stuff.
And these are two of my favorite captures this weekend. Our little angels… or not.
3 commentsFirst offer for first communion
I’m so excited! I was offered my first “for hire” photography gig! A friend’s daughter’s first communion this weekend. Unfortunately, I can’t do it at last minute’s notice but I’m so flattered just to be asked! I wish I could’ve accepted though. I really like this family and the daughter is very photogenic. Now I have ideas of first communion photos competing with ideas for birthday cupcakes fighting in my brain :-)
