If I died tomorrow

I realy have no business making these 2 weeks before finals, but the creative juices were getting ready to burst. I had to release them :)

latest layouts

Do you realize I haven’t scrapped pictures since last summer? My last layout was made just before the fall semester began. I’ve managed to make some cards and knick-knack projects since Christmas, but I’m waaaay behind on my albums.

If I died tomorrow, my story would be incomplete!  (The good news is, I wouldn’t have to take my finals :)

Dear Diary 1990

my journals

The following night, I had another flashback encounter. I meant to grab a small bible from my night stand drawer, forgetting I’d donated all but one leather bible inscribed with my name. I also forgot about all my journals and diaries stashed in that drawer! I have a hard enough time sleeping when Don’s out of town. I couldn’t help it last night. I browsed thru my diaries from the 90’s and lost track of time. It was 3 or 4 in the morning when I turned out the lights.

Blogging is fun, too, but there’s only so much personal stuff I can write with the world wide web as my audience. Journaling in private is not only therapeutic, but makes for great reading after years have passed! I laughed and cried and laughed and cried all night. I forgot how poetic I used to be and was actually entertained by my own writing skills :)

The real bonus — I found soooo much material to pull for my scrapbooks! Creating pages will go faster when I have the words, events, and emotions to match the photos.

Time stays, We go

Don’s away on a business trip. My parents were in town for a wedding and spent the night at our place. I put them in our master bedroom while I slept in the guest room coz it was easier than pulling out the second guest bed to accomodate 2 people.

Funny thing happened that night when I knocked on my parents’ door to tell them something. I had a surreal flashback of being “back home” when I was growing up. Maybe it was my dad watching TV in bed, or hearing my mom brushing her teeth in the bathroom, or a copy of the Reader’s Digest on the night stand under the dim light. That was the closest I’ve come to going thru a time warp :)

When I went to bed alone in the guest room, I wished I could go back in time even for a little while. I just want to remember who I was…

Time goes, you say? Ah no!
Alas, Time stays, we go.

Snail mail at your own risk

I’ve lost all faith in the US Postal Service. I thought it was just a local problem since we’ve been getting random mail from the neighborhood for months now. I’ve even received mail for people in different counties. God only knows where our mail ends up! James is still waiting for a birthday card with cash, which was sent 3 months ago! It must be in mail heaven by now.

Our post office’s excuse is, “We don’t have a regular carrier for your route.” So? Is it too much to ask our “irregular” carrier to pay attention to details? How come I never get the wrong junk mail? Only important mail with deadlines or cash value.

Last month, I placed a rush order on software for a class. I had a close deadline to meet and the seller went out of his way to ship it asap, 2-3 day Priority Mail from a city just 2 hours north of me. According electronic tracking, the package left the origin the very next morning but sat in a different state for 7 whole days!!! I could’ve just driven the 2 hours and picked it up myself!

The moral of the story is, use FedEx, the Brown truck, or smoke signals.  And whatever you do, do not send cash!  Feel free to send me hate mail if youdisagree.  Maybe I’ll get it, maybe I won’t.

Cool find

This is awesome! Check this out… I want one that says,

{got grace?}

I was going to stencil (one letter at a time!) a wall border in our bathroom that would serve as a reminder from Shakespeare’s Tragedy of Coriolanus:

Bid them wash their faces
And keep their teeth clean

What would your bathroom walls say??? (Keep it G-rated please!)
